What The Springfield Singers Do

A ladies choir for all voices — singing with heart since 1984

Supporting Our Community

Music has always been about bringing people together, and The Springfield Singers is proud to support our local community through fundraising, performances and charitable partnerships.

Each year we choose a charity to support through our annual Charity Concert. Entry to the concert is free, with donations collected throughout the evening to benefit our chosen charity. Representatives from the charity are invited to attend and share more about their work with our audience, helping us raise awareness as well as vital funds.

Our 2026 Charity Partner

James Hopkins Trust

During 2026, The Springfield Singers is proud to support James Hopkins Trust, a Gloucestershire charity providing specialist nursing respite care for babies and young children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, while offering invaluable support to their families.

As part of our annual Charity Concert in September, representatives from James Hopkins Trust will join us to share more about their work with our audience. Entry to the concert is free, with donations collected throughout the evening in support of the charity.

We are honoured to support James Hopkins Trust throughout 2026 and look forward to helping raise both awareness and vital funds for this remarkable Gloucestershire charity.

Alongside our annual charity partnership, we are proud to support young musicians, educational opportunities and other community initiatives whenever we can.

Supporting Young Musicians

We like to offer opportunities to young musicians from the Forest to gain experience in performance, whatever their instrument and whether they hope to pursue music as a career or simply enjoy performing.

We are always eager to hear new talent, and when we come across young musicians, we love to invite them to share the stage with us. There is no formal process—just the joy of giving them a chance to shine in front of an audience, with the support of the choir behind them.

Whenever we feature a young musician, you will find their name on our posters and programmes as part of our celebration of their talent. Keep an eye on our upcoming events to discover who may be joining us next, or come along to support someone you know as they take to the stage.

Supporting Education & Learning

University student during an educational visit to Vietnam

In 2025, The Springfield Singers was pleased to sponsor a university student who completed a placement with the choir as part of her degree.

Our sponsorship enabled her to take part in an educational and cultural exchange programme in Hanoi, Vietnam, providing a unique opportunity to broaden her learning, experience a different culture and collaborate with students from around the world.

“Vietnam was an amazing experience. Having the opportunity to give a presentation in Vietnam was a dream come true, and I really appreciate the support given by The Springfield Singers.”
